RFP VOC-2025-02 "Public Washroom Interior Accessibility Retrofits"

The Village of Chester proposes to engage the services of qualified and capable contractor(s) to provide exterior and interior accessibility retrofits to its Public Washroom facility and partial exterior accessibility retrofits to the Lido Pool facility at 10 Parade Square, Chester, NS. The work will take place within property owned by the Village.

Heritage Day 2025

Monday, Feb 17 is Heritage Day in Nova Scotia. On this day we celebrate the people, places and events that have shaped our unique history.

This year's honoree is the late Nora Bernard, a Mi'kmaq Activist who founded the Shubenacadie Indian Residential School Association and set the wheels in motion for what became the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. For more, visit: https://heritageday.novascotia.ca/

Please note that the Village Commission offices at 27 Pleasant Street, Chester, will be closed on Monday in honour of the day.

Dec 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

We mark this day to remember the women who were murdered in the appalling mass shooting at Polytechnique Montréal on Dec 6, 1989 -- and all who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have lost to it.

In Nova Scotia and around the world, women and girls face unacceptable violence and discrimination. We all must act.
