TAKE NOTICE THAT the Village of Chester’s annual meeting of electors is being held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 6:30pm at the Village Commission office, 27 Pleasant Street, Chester.
At this meeting, the audited 2024/25 Financial Statements will be presented as well as an overview of Village Commission activities. The public is welcome and encouraged to join us!
The meeting agenda will be posted closer to the event. It will be held in person and online.

The Chester Village Commission is holding an Audit Committee meeting to kick-off the accounting audit process for the 2024/25 fiscal year. The meeting agenda(185 KB) and agenda package(2.11 MB) are now available.
The meeting begins at 6:00 pm and is held in-person at the Village office (27 Pleasant Street) as well as online. The public is welcome!

Community Grants - Applications Open

The Village of Chester Commission offers community grants to:
- Support activities that advertise opportunities for the Village of Chester and its residents to grow, flourish and prosper; and
- Encourage tourism growth in the Village in a way that enhances the visitor experience and makes our community a more appealing destination.
Non-profit organizations can find eligibility requirements, a grant application, and more in the Grant Policy(182 KB) .

Upcoming Tree Maintenance in Chester

Nova Scotia Power will be doing tree trimming and vegetation maintenance starting the first week of March in the Village and surrounding area. This work is necessary to reduce the risk of power outages and protect public safety.
Below is a map of the planned maintenance area in the Village, and an information bulletin(248 KB) about the program.
The last routine trim in Chester took place in 2017. This year's work is expected to take approximately 4-6 weeks.
