Nancy Hatch

Nancy Hatch

Nancy Hatch was born and raised in Toronto. Before she married Bill, the love of her life, she taught elementary school in a richly diverse ethnic community in downtown Toronto. She and Bill first came to Nova Scotia in 1989. They were so taken by the natural and architectural beauty of the Village of Chester and the welcoming hospitality shown by all that, for the following five summers, they rented a house on the peninsula. The laid-back lifestyle and geniality of friends and strangers alike convinced them to pull up stakes in Toronto and settle in Chester in 1995. After her husband died in 2007, she had more time to devote to her community and served on the board of directors of the Chester Municipal Heritage Society, on the Library Committee of Zoé Vallé Memorial Library, and now, on the Village Commission. When she isn’t attending meetings, Nancy enjoys playing golf (some days more than others), bridge, solving cryptic crosswords, and walking her Westie, Katie.
